As Hillary and Old Bill and their surrogates wait in trepidation for what is to come at the end of this hard fought campaign, they are plotting and scheming to derail Obama. Why? They are strapped for cash and would not be able to get the media coverage that Obama would have at his disposal. Also, this is a way to slow Obama’s momentum, while they deploy their surrogates to blunt any surge Obama’s campaign makes. What an awesome plan by Hillary, Old Bill, and their surrogates! The only thing is that it will not work. Obama is more intelligent than they give him credit. Hillary has the edge; he just wants to get a piece of the pie! We want a competitive contest and not one that is lopsided. By having this primary drag on for a few more months, we will get to know who is on our side. What is at stake is too priceless to just hand over like that!
As I considered Hillary’s proposition to Obama, I could not help but wondered whether Hillary would have agreed to such a proposition from Obama if Obama were in her situation. Politics is all about gaining the edge. What I see here is a clear attempt by Hillary and her campaign to derail Obama’s efforts to reach the masses with his message of Hope and Optimism. I am sorry Hillary. This is an old political trick that has been used over and over in politics through the century. Sit with Old Bill and your surrogates and contrive a better plan. This one will not work.
